Thanksgiving at Home
Thanksgiving can be stressful, especially if you’re hosting. You have to juggle a ton of tasks; making your guests feel welcome, setting a nice table, timing the cooking of all the different dishes, ensuring the food is tasty and praying your turkey isn’t dry. You might even be stressed about the cleanup after everyone’s done eating, watching football and napping.
That’s the way it was for me, anyway, the first time I hosted Thanksgiving for my family. I’m happy to report that the day went almost flawlessly (there was that time I almost dropped the Turkey moving it to the carving board).
A good deal of that success is due to the help from my family. But I have to give props to the high-quality of my tools, which I knew I could trust. I had a collection of Epicurean boards and utensils, and an arsenal of Victorinox knives at my disposal. Every job in the kitchen—folding, sautéeing, slicing, carving—was easier because of these tools. Even the cleanup was easy; all the Epicurean boards and utensils were just tossed in the dishwasher.
